Carter Humphrey  --  China Trip

Carter Humphrey,  Youth Deacon,  was nominated to be a People to People International Student Ambassador, Class of 2009.   He  traveled to  China this past summer.  With Session approval, he organized a tag sale in Fellowship Hall this past June to defray expenses.

  

People to People International. was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower  in 1956.  He believed encounters between people of different backgrounds would form the foundation for lasting world peace, and he recognized the power of young people as leaders.  Since the first student delegation to Berlin in 1963, thousands of young Americans have safely traveled across international borders, returning home with a greater sense of what it means to be a global citizen.  As student ambassadors travel under the banner of People to People, they represent the best characteristics of our country: hope, courage, openness and a love of peace.
