FPCY now has a Group on Facebook!
If you don't yet have a Facebook page, go to our website, www.fpcyorktown.org, and click on the Facebook icon in the upper right corner. If you already have a Facebook page, search for "First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown" and consider becoming joining the group.

Church Email Lists -- FPCY maintains an "Announcements"email-list for sending alerts to the church community. These alerts can be anything from prayer requests, notices of deaths within our church family, weather related schedule changes, or the posting of The Disciple - monthly newsletter. Email frequency typically is once or twice per month. The church school also has a "Church School Parents" list for conveying information related to church school. The easiest way to sign up is via the website -- www.fpcyorktown.org. Go to the Contact Us page, and look for either the FPCY_ChurchAnnouncements link, or the FPCY_ChurchSchoolParents link.

and your email address will be added to the list. What you'll get is church notices occasionally arriving in your email.

CDs of the 10:45 AM Worship Service are available upon request. If you know of a shut in, or someone temporarily unable to attend services, who would like to receive a recording, please see Carl Anderson, Mark Linehan, or Chuck Radke, or send a email to fpcywebsite@gmail.com.



From the Website -- www.fpcyorktown.org -- Did you know -- The first recorded baptism of an African American in Yorktown was in 1825, in the Presbyterian Church, of Prince Devoe. The first recorded marriage of two African Americans in Yorktown was also in the Yorktown Pres-byterian Church. Prince Devoe married Susan Horton in 1826.

Online Calendar -- There is now an interactive calendar which displays (and prints) church events by day, week, or month. Outside organization usage and church group meetings can be displayed separately or combined. Links to the calendar are on the home page, and on the church life page.

Have you missed a Worship Service -- but would still like to hear it? You can now find audio recordings of our Services on the FPCY website at www.fpcyorktown.org. Click on the "This Week" button on the left-hand side of the page to access this week's recording, plus the Worship Bulletin and the weekly church calendar. Past weeks are available from the link at the top of the same page.

New Email Address for Disciple Submissions:

Use this just as you would any other email address to submit articles for upcoming issues of the Disciple. Your submission will automatically reach both Barbara Darragh, in the church office, and Stephanie Hare, the Disciple editor, with just one click of the send button.
