Deacon's Report

helping hands

Deacon Highlights

This May the Deacon's had their annual Elders/Deacons Dinner Meeting to discuss and coordinate our various ministries and commissions. It was a Potluck dinner with lots of food and a good time was had by all as well.

The annual Postal Food Drive was held on May 8th. It was a big success with lots of helpers. A big thank you to all that helped out that day. More hands make the work much easier. There will be a report on the May 22 Blood Drive in September.

Deacons look forward to a great summer with no meetings until September, but Dea-cons will still be busy with the Food Pantry, Transportation and Loaves and Fishes. Loaves and Fishes needs help with delivering meals to those who could use a great homecooked meal while they are homebound because of operations, new baby, bereavement or other situations.

The Transportation Committee provides transportation to those members of the Church who need to get to Doctors appointments etc. Food Pantry is in special need during the Summer when many of the volunteers who normally help out have vacation plans. Satur-day, July 10th there will be a definite need for volunteers. If you can help, please con-tact Barbara Humphrey for Transportation, Sue Nelson or Louise Fang for Loaves & Fishes, or Todd Child for the Food Pantry.

If you are interested in or have need of Transportation, or a meal from Loaves and Fishes during the Summber, Deacons are not closed down but just a phone call away.

Have a great Summer!

Deacon Louise Fang
