Coffee Hour

Congregational Life Commission

Hosts for all coffee hours are needed. Please sign up in the "coffee hour" book in Fellowship Hall. Any questions? Call Karen Gerth 318-6429.

"Meet and Greets" with Chip and Tami Low: Sign up sheets can be found in the Gathering Space on Sunday mornings. These informal gatherings will take place for several weeks.

We will get more events on the calendar as schedules permit. Be sure to check the "sign up" table.

Are you interested in Quilting? We are curious if there are those that would be interested in forming a "Quilt Togethers" group.

For Flowers

Flowers in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings are a wonderful way to mark a special occasion, honor a love one, or celebrate the beauty of creation.
April 18, 25, May 2,16,23, June 6, 13, 20 are available.

Arrangements are $25 each. Please call the office to order flowers (245-2186).

Name tags

Dig out those name pins. We all have them. Why don't we wear them? Our church is growing rapidly and our new members are wearing their name pins so we can get to know them but what about the rest of us? Let's help our new members get to know who we are and our new future pastor as well. So, dust off those pins and wear them proudly .
If any one would like to order a name tag, please fill out the following form and return to Bar-bara in the office. Cost is $5.

STEWARDSHIP 2009

AND TOGETHER WE ARE:

THE CONGREGATIONAL LIFE COMMISSION

The Congregational Life Commission, which is chaired by Karen Gerth and Marianna Sherman, is always busy extending hands of hospitality, including such activities as:

We Are the Church Together
  • Planning for and executing our recent “candidates” weekend, from the party that Friday evening to that Sunday morning’s coffee hour
  • Organizing and recruiting for our coffee hours, for both services, every Sunday (and, yes, they could use your help!).  Did you know that Equal Exchange Coffee is now served?  This coffee choice helps small farmers earn a fair price for their products.
  • The Seniors Lunch Bunch – this group meets monthly and enjoys gathering for lunch and other activities.
  • The Morning Women’s Circle – meeting the first Wednesday of each month, this group focuses on bible study and discussion.
  • The Visit the Visitor program reaches out to visitors to our church.  The program has been facilitated by Ken and Marianna Sherman for over 10 years.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – Women from our church meet to knit shawls which are given on special occasions (our new pastor, Chip Low, recently received one, as did Dick Mills, who was celebrating 50 years of ministry).
  • Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners! -- Congregational Care plans Easter Sunrise Breakfast, Children’s Sunday Breakfast, Parish Picnic, Progressive Dinner—and more!

Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

We had delightful weather for our annual Parish Picnic, held Sunday 9/13. While Worship and Fellowship took center stage, there are several folks I would like to spotlight for their behind the scenes efforts. Grateful thanks to: Ann Everingham for her leadership, Pat Prauda for shopping, our Grill Masters - Bill Talbot, Jim Gerth, & Mike Gerth, volunteers - Rita Child, Debbie Ber-nardini, Patti Talbot, Sue Mintzer, Angelyn Forbes-Freeze, Chuck & Norean Radke, George Everingham and Ken Sherman; Cal Weber and his family for the lovely flowers that graced the picnic tables and our make shift pulpit. Many hands made light the work and I am oh, so grate-ful! (If you are missing a utensil or dish, please check with me in the kitchen ... we washed some "new" serving pieces)! Karen Gerth, Chair, Congregational Life Commission.
